Myeloperoxidase (MPO; non recombinant)

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a heme containing enzyme of neutrophil granulocytes, which contributes to the destruction of phagocytosed microorganisms by catalyzing the conversion of hydrogen peroxide to hypochlorous acid within the phagosome. DIARECT™ antigens are for further manufacturing or research use only.

Origin
Native. Isolated from human peripheral blood polymorphonuclear leukocytes.
Biochemical Test
SDS-PAGE (purity > 80%; subunit composition according to following section); Western blot with rabbit anti-MPO antisera; green color indicates presence of "green heme" cofactor.
Apparent Molecular Weight
approx. 150 kDa (contains 2 subunits each of a heavy chain with 64 kDa and a light chain with 13 kDa).
Coating Concentration
0.4-0.9 µg/ml (depending on the type of ELISA plate and coating buffer). Suitable for labeling of functional groups.
