Ku (p70/p80)

Eukaryotic Ku is a heterodimeric DNA binding protein formed by the p70 and p80 subunits that were named according to their respective molecular weight. Ku is a key factor of the non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) DNA repair pathway by directly binding to DNA ends created at DNA double strand breaks. DIARECT™ antigens are for further manufacturing or research use only.

Origin
Recombinant. Expressed by recombinant baculovirus (Autographa californica multiple nuclear polyhedrosis virus; AcMNPV) infection of Spodoptera frugiperda Sf9 insect cells.
Biochemical Test
SDS-PAGE (purity> 85%); Western blot with i: anti-Ku autoantibodypositive sample; ii: monoclonal antiHis-tag antibody.
Calculated Molecular Weight
p70 subunit: 71 kDa; p80 subunit: 84 kDa
Calculated Isoelectric Point
p70 subunit: pH 6.3; p80 subunit: pH 5.7; p70/p80 heterodimer: around pH 6.0
Coating Concentration
0.2-0.6 µg/ml (depending on the type of ELISA plate and coating buffer). Suitable for labeling of functional groups.
