BioFX® Substrates / Stop Reagents

The signal generation step of immunoassay systems is critical to obtaining an accurate measurement of the target protein. SurModics portfolio of BioFX® colorimetric and chemiluminescent substrates offers the stability, low background and sensitivity needed to meet the demands of assay manufacturers. A range of substrate sensitivities are available for ELISA, Western Blot, ELISpot and Immunohistochemistry applications. To meet customer needs SurModics offers custom formulations and bottling capabilities. SurModics is ISO 13485 and 9001 certified to ensure quality is built into every product.

Colorimetric HRP Substrates
BioFX® colorimetric substrates for ELISA, Western blot and IHC assays have an established reputation for high quality and performance. The substrates offer dramatically improved sensitivity with low backgrounds with the added benefits of stability and lot-to-lot consistency. Unique chemistries are used to protect the dyes from unpredictable color change while they optimize reaction rates. Hazardous solvents are not used in the unique buffer systems.
Chemiluminescent HRP Substrates
BioFX® HRP chemiluminescent substrates have a range of sensitivities to optimize microwell and membrane immunoassays. The two-component, luminol-based formulations are sensitive enough to measure analytes in the pictogram to femtogram concentration range.
Stop Reagents for TMB Substrates
Proprietary BioFX® stop reagents are available for TMB substrates as dry blends or in liquid formulations for reading at both 450 nm and 650 nm.
Colorimetric AP Substrates
BioFX® colorimetric AP substrates provide stability, durability, and lot-to-lot consistency and offer dramatically improved sensitivity with low background. The one component PNPP and BCIP/NBT substrates utilize chemistries that protect the dyes from unpredictable color change. The substrates contain unique buffers that optimize reaction rates without the use of hazardous solvents.
Chemiluminescent AP Substrates
BioFX® AP chemiluminescent substrates have a range of sensitivities to optimize microwell and membrane immunoassays. The one-component dioxetane-based formulations are sensitive enough to measure analytes in the attogram concentration range.
Stop Reagents for Other Substrates
Proprietary BioFX® stop reagents are available for ABTS and pNPP.
